The former DP claimed that he calculates every move based on numbers and strategy, a strategy he says has never let him down.

He told residents that political success is not based on emotion or popularity, but on what he termed a scientific approach.

"Since 2002, I’ve been in politics and I have never been on the losing side. Wherever you see me, that’s where victory lies. I’m not just an ordinary politician; I’m a political scientist. I know how to calculate political moves," he said.

Gachagua, who previously served as Ruto’s deputy in the Kenya Kwanza administration before falling out with him, referred to the 2022 election as a key example of his political foresight.

He recounted his fallout with former president Uhuru Kenyatta over the endorsement of ODM leader Raila Odinga for the presidency.

"Even when my brother Uhuru Kenyatta wanted us to support Raila Odinga, I did the math and told him it couldn’t work, we disagreed, and yet he’s my friend. Because I never go against the numbers. I always side with the math, because politics is scientific; it’s a formula," Gachagua narrated.

What is Gachagua's strategy to unseating Ruto

He told the gathering that the strategy to unseat Ruto in 2027 already exists and that only the timing of the next election was delaying what he described as inevitable.

Confident in the opposition's chances against Ruto at the ballot, Gachagua stated that they were only being delayed by time.

Gachagua gave the clearest indication that they were working on a coalition to take on Ruto, declaring that the formula was among the opposition chiefs.

"The formula to remove Ruto is here with us. This matter is already settled; it’s just that the election is still too far away. That’s the only disappointment. Two years is a long time. Honestly, if the election were tomorrow, we’d have already sent this man packing, right? So I want to assure the people of Ukambani that you are on the right side of history," he observed.

While he did not reveal specific names, Gachagua urged supporters to be patient as leaders consult over who will be the joint presidential flagbearer.

He asked Kenyans not to pressure the opposition into naming a candidate prematurely, arguing that the candidate would become a target.

"I ask Kenyans to stay calm, give us time, and don’t rush us to announce the flagbearer, so they don't face roadblocks along the way. But trust us, one person will come out from among us. And government is big; one will be president, another deputy, another prime minister, another speaker; there’s enough space for all of us," Gachagua appealed.

Why is Gachagua accused of dictatorship

Elsewhere, former Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu warned that Gachagua's recent attacks on Kikuyu musicians signal a drift toward authoritarianism.

Wambugu criticised Gachagua for labelling artists as traitors for supporting the government and for threatening boycotts if they didn't apologise.

He expressed concern that such actions reflect a desire to control political choices and businesses.
