"We wish to categorically deny and clarify misleading reports circulating in the media and on social platforms claiming that the assembly convened a sitting today, Thursday, 26th June 2025, to advance impeachment proceedings against the Governor of Isiolo County or to conduct any such related business. No such sitting has been convened, held, or facilitated by this Office," Boru said.
In his statement, the clerk cited an existing court order which barred the MCAs from debating and passing the impeachment motion.
"There are active court orders explicitly prohibiting the county assembly from advancing the impeachment proceedings against the governor at this time. The Assembly is fully bound by these orders and remains committed to upholding the rule of law and constitutional due processes," he said.
Boru noted that he was the substantive clerk of the assembly and that anyone purporting to have convened the sitting to impeach Guyo has no legal authority.

"This office has not issued any notice or order paper,or deployed Officers for facilitating such a sitting, nor has it facilitated any proceedings, formal or informal, on the matter on the basis of the above. Additionally, it is important to clarify that the substantive clerk of the County Assembly remains one Mr. Salad Boru, and anyone purporting to act as such has no legal footing to facilitate any such sitting nor act on behalf of this Office," the clerk said.
He claimed reports about Guyo's ouster are politically motivated misinformation meant to mislead the public, adding that the impeachment process is guided by the law.
"The purported claims arise in the context of ongoing politically motivated misinformation, intended to mislead the public and undermine lawful assembly procedures. The public is therefore advised to disregard any allegations of an impeachment process having been undertaken. The impeachment of a governor is a solemn constitutional process, guided by the law and structured procedure," he said.
Did Mwenda Thuranira back Guyo's impeachment plot?
In related news, businessman Mwenda Thuranira threw his weight behind the plans to impeach Guyo.
In a strongly worded statement posted on his official Facebook page, Thuranira, a vocal critic of the county leadership, praised the MCAs for uniting behind the impeachment motion.
He claimed the governor’s leadership style is rooted in arrogance and impunity, accusing him of ignoring the voices of ordinary citizens and treating the county as if it were his personal property.
