The legislator hinted at the financial challenges that he went through in order to secure his Parliamentary seat in the 2027 General Election.

What was Jalango's campaign budget?

While speaking during an interview with Dr. Ofweneke, Jalango stated that his campaign budget was initially KSh 30 million, but that turned out to be little.

He further revealed that he ran out of funds even before he could get the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM ) ticket to vie for the political seat.

"I thought I would have some balance after the campaigns, but I was wrong. My friends raised KSh 47 million for me, plus the money I had initially. The money used was way more than that. If I told you, you would even beat me," Jalang'o said.

Jalang'o argued that vying for a political seat in Nairobi is very expensive compared to vying for a seat in rural areas.

When asked why he couldn't vie for a seat in Homa Bay, he stated that he was not popular in the area like he was in Langa'ta.

"You see, there are people who come in with as low as even KSh 2 million, or KSh 5 million, but from the villages. Nairobi politics is very expensive.. But now, when was I last seen in Homa Bay? I was there in 2000," Jalang'o said.
