However, moments before his departure, the former second in command shared a post castigating President William Ruto.
Gachagua revealed that an elaborate plan was in motion to report the head of state to the International Criminal Court in the Netherlands.
According to Gachagua, the Hague-based court was the one with the ability to prosecute the president, suggesting the Kenyan judicial system was compromised.
He further took a swipe at the president, referencing his past case against humanity during the 2007/2008 post-election violence at the ICC.
"We shall report you not to the Kenyan police but the International Criminal Court, an address you are familiar with," Gachagua revealed.
Why does Gachagua not trust Kenya's justice system?
The DCP party leader further chastised the president following his call for those accusing the state of sponsoring goons to report the matter.

Rigathi Gachagua responds to Ruto in explosive post before flying to USA: "Give us a break"
"Give us a break! How do we report state-sponsored militia and those who organised them to the police who supervised them as they burned and looted property? You are asking us to name those who organised? I named you as the person responsible for unleashing violence against the community that made you president," Gachagua added.
The Mathira politician accused Ruto of lacking empathy, questioning his failure to console the families of the victims.
"You have even gone further to add insult to injury by directing them to shoot innocent Kenyans on the legs. You could not even send condolences to the dead. You lack feelings and humanity," the former DP observed.
How did Ruto dare Gachagua?
The former DP sentiments came in response to Ruto's challenge to substantiate claims that the government is deliberately targeting businesses owned by Mt Kenya residents.
Gachagua had alleged a concerted effort to weaken GEMA communities through tactics like inciting arson, deploying militias, and releasing illicit alcohol to destabilise youth.
Ruto dismissed these assertions as politically motivated, calling them “nonsensical” and blaming them for inflaming tensions.
