In a tweet on Tuesday, July 15, Amisi expressed his affection toward Maraga's qualities to be Kenya's 6th president.

Can David Maraga make a good president?

According to Amisi, Maraga's belief in the rule of law makes him a good candidate to be the president, not based on his ethnicity or political formation.

"We love David Maraga for audacity on the fundamental principles of law or should I say a record breaking jurisprudence on presidential election nullification.
"He is a president born out of conspiracy theory, for convenient circumstances . But not as a product of a convoluted, ethnicised, politically oligarchical process," Amisi said.

However, the Saboti lawmaker strongly criticised the campaign strategies being deployed by the former chief justice in his bid to unseat President William Ruto.

What will make David Maraga lose elections?

Amisi pointed out that despite the fact that many Kenyans would love Maraga to be the president in 2027, his close advisers might cost him the top seat.

According to the ODM lawmaker, the team that Maraga is relying on is politically ignorant and planless.

"All Kenyans would love to have Maraga as president, and I am number one supporter. But his team seems to be myopic, politically ignorant, planless, and rudderless, and they could spoil his very imminent chances at the House of the Hill," he stated.

More specifically, Amisi tore into alleged plans by Maraga to introduce a pay bill to raise funds for his political campaigns.

The Saboti lawmaker questioned the rationale behind such a proposal, expressing concern over its potential implications on Maraga's presidential bid.

He argued that the former CJ should concentrate on selling his manifesto to Kenyans before exploring avenues of raising campaign funds.

"Rushing to collect money for the campaign before you sell the manifesto is like twerking on the stage before the DJ arrives to play the music. The audience shall be bored already unless you are curtain raising," the Saboti MP said.

What are the problems facing Kenya?

Meanwhile, Maraga outlined his agenda for Kenya ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Maraga, who said he was endorsed by Gen Z, highlighted some of the problems facing the country under Ruto's regime.

He pointed out endemic impunity and corruption, disregard of the Constitution, a limping economy and the collapse of the education and healthcare systems.

Maraga also said foreign policy under the Kenya Kwanza Alliance government had cost the country its traditional friendships with other nations.
