In a tweet on Wednesday, July 16, Kaluma slammed leaders opposed to the dialogue proposed by ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Why are leaders opposed to a conclave?

According to Kaluma, people opposed to the dialogue between Ruto's administration and Gen Z have nothing to offer in an honest discussion.

"The anarchists can't accept dialogue or national conversation because the lies they keep shouting will be exposed. They also have nothing to offer on the table of honest discussion," Kaluma said.

The ODM lawmaker wondered why Kenyans have been criticising every step taken by Ruto, whom he described as the best president since independence.

Kaluma declared his support for the president's efforts to stabilise the country's economy and to promote national cohesion.

"We can't be a nation that sees wrong in everything the best president Kenya has ever had does. I support President Ruto for stabilising Kenya's economy, which Uhuru collapsed. I also support him for his deliberate efforts to share national resources, including public service appointments, across all communities and regions of the country," the ODM MP said.

The Homa Bay Town lawmaker further criticised recent demonstrations, arguing that they discourage foreign investors who would have created employment opportunities for many young people.

Why Kenyans should not criticise William Ruto

He noted that it is not the work of the government to employ citizens, but to create an enabling environment for investors.

"The youth bulge and resultant unemployment are not unique to Kenya. It is not the work of any government to employ citizens, but to create an environment in which investors can thrive. The chaos the anarchists have been encouraging on our streets in the name of demonstrations is chasing away the investors Kenya needs to create job opportunities for our bulging young population," he stated.

The vocal ODM lawmaker also hit out at Kenyans criticising Ruto over the killing witnessed during recent protests.

According to Kaluma, Ruto can only be held liable for the mistakes made by the Kenya Defence Forces and not individual police officers.

"President Ruto is the Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces, not the Police. Blaming him for the mistakes of individual police officers is to play bad politics with the stability of the State. This must stop," he argued.
