The recent incident started when the former deputy president, Gachagua, accused Kindiki of hiring goons to infiltrate protests.

Did Kindiki hire goons to infiltrate protests?

Speaking in Boston, United States, Gachagua claimed that Kindiki received KSh 60 million from President William Ruto to use goons to cause chaos during demos, then pin the blame on him and his counterparts.

"They organised goons to cause chaos, then frame us. They did this so the public could turn against us. However, Kenyans can see through the deception," Gachagua alleged.

Additionally, he alleged that Kindiki was using state funds to drum up support for the head of state ahead of the 2027 General Election in the guise of empowerment programmes.

The former legislator stated that the funds should instead be used to improve the health and education sectors, which are in urgent need of funds.

How did Kindiki respond to Gachagua?

In response to Gachagua's allegations, Kindiki took to his social media platforms on Saturday, July 19, warning him that he had crossed the line.

Kindiki further denounced Gachagua's claims that he hired goons to cause mayhem during the demonstrations

The deputy president affirmed that he had never been involved in orchestrating violence and chaos since he began his job in the public service.

The politician further asked his predecessor to ensure that they respect each other. He further blamed Gachagua for his own predicament.

"I told you tuheshimiane, but your pride and uncouth habit of attacking people who have nothing to do with the mess you have created for yourself will certainly hasten you to get what you are looking for. Umekuja sana," Kindiki said.
