She cited widespread unemployment among youth, struggling women-led businesses, poor housing in Kangemi, and children walking long distances to school as key motivators behind her candidacy.

“I chose a different path,” she said, unveiling a six-point strategic plan designed to uplift residents and tackle systemic challenges.

How will Lucy Jeffrey transform Westlands Constituency?

Based on her 18-year experience and success in Canada, her plan includes donating 50% of her net salary to her constituency office to directly serve the people, launching internet-based income training for youth, and opening a call centre in Westlands to connect young people with Canadian and Kenyan businesses, thus creating real and sustainable jobs.

Additionally, the TV host vowed to improve infrastructure in low-income areas and partner with local hospitals to provide mobile healthcare services.

"I will collaborate with Lions of Kenya, Aga Khan, and MP Shah Hospitals (all within our constituency) to bring quality mobile healthcare to underserved communities," she vowed.

Jeffrey emphasised the importance of using technology to unify residents, opting for efficient communication channels such as Facebook groups over WhatsApp chains.

She vowed to mentor future leaders and end tribal-based politics in the constituency.

Further, the entrepreneur urged voters to choose between 'tired strategies' and her 'practical solutions' that have worked abroad, pledging to serve for only one term and hand over to a capable successor.

"I am here with a positive objective, a clear plan, and the will to serve. You’ve waited too long for change. Work with me for five years, and let’s make Westlands a model for all of Kenya.
Outside of Parliament, my hands are tied. Inside, I can work for your families, not for my pocket. My stomach is full (tumbo liko sawa). My mission is to fill yours. I know trust is hard after so many broken promises, but my way is different. I will run Westlands like a viable business, where every resident benefits," she said.
