On Tuesday, July 22, Kidero held a meeting with MP Tim Wanyonyi, who has already shifted his political base to Bungoma.

Is Kidero eyeing Westlands MP's seat?

Although details of the meeting were not clear, some reports emerged online claiming Kidero would be targeting to replace Wanyonyi in 2027 on an ODM party ticket.

Reacting to the reports, Lucy, who has already declared her intention to run for the seat, dismissed the impact of the meeting.

According to the entrepreneur, Westlands constituency MP's seat is not a reserve for certain people.

"They are handing over the seat as if it is an inheritance. No wonder I have been told this is a Luhya constituency. I say no it is a Nairobi constituency. Others deserve to lead. Tell them watapambana na MuCanadian. They better start getting to know me now. No more old guard politicians taking seats," Lucy said.

The Canadian-based TV host said she will organise debates, and she challenged other politicians to attend and explain their manifestos to the Westlands residents.

"The sooner they know me the better so they don't get disappointed in 2027😆I'm going to invite them to Canadian style townhall debate nights at the Sarit Expo Centre. Let them tell Kenyans what they can do now that they did not do when they were in power," she stated.

What are Lucy Jeffery's campaign promises?

Recently, the Canadian TV host declared her ambition to lead Westlands Constituency in the upcoming 2027 General Election.

Lucy, who is the CEO & Founder at Kenya Private Sector CEOs Club, disclosed that she will be vying as an independent candidate.

In a post on Facebook, the journalist-turned-politician pledged a leadership model built on service, innovation, and practical solutions drawn from her 18 years of experience in Canada.

She dismissed critics who questioned her connection to the Kenyan political landscape, saying she is well aware of the ground realities in Westlands.

Her move came weeks after Wanyonyi declared his intention to vie for the Bungoma gubernatorial seat.

ODM lawmaker said he was ready to take charge of Bungoma county after eight members of parliament endorsed his bid.
