Speaking on Thursday, July 24, Kisumu 2TAM Youth Movement asked Sifuna to choose whether he wants to be part of the government or the opposition.

The visibly agitated youth dared Sifuna to leave the ODM secretary general position, as he is tired of being associated with Raila's party, which is in partnership with UDA.

"Someone else will take over your position at the party. If you're not careful, we will deal with you," he added.

Why was Sifuna asked to leave ODM?

The youth further expressed concern over the recent remarks against President William Ruto's regime. Terming him as a "partisan mouthpiece" the youth claimed that Sifuna has neglected his role as a national leader.

"At a time when the country faces serious socio-economic challenges and calls for unity grow louder. It is shameful that Mr. Sifuna finds comfort in undermining President William Ruto, the very symbol of our national unity and democratic choice," another leader said.

They further stated that national leaders like Sifuna have a responsibility to defend the head of state when members of the opposition attack him.
