Ruto's allies held a series of meetings in hotels in Murang'a, Kirinyaga and Nyeri counties where they devised a two-pronged execution plan in their bid to stop the growing hostility against the Kenya Kwanza government.

One group is led by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and the other by the Service Party leader and Laikipia East MP Mwangi Kiunjuri.

The team has resolved that going forward, they will not engage with the opposition on political issues, but instead, they will strive to talk about development issues with the residents.

"We will instead remain focused on telling our story and endearing ourselves (to the people) through service delivery while ignoring the rhetoric from the other group until that opportune moment when we shall engage about 2027," said Kindiki.

The other strategy item that Kiunjuri highlighted is the need to engage voters at the ward level, including the youth.

"We will be addressing salient issues that affect our people, making their lives more difficult," Nyeri town MP Duncan Mathenge said.

Kiunjuri further disclosed that the president's team is eyeing the recapture of Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, who fell out with Ruto after he was removed from a powerful post.

"We have also launched a charm offensive targeting Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro who, after being mentored politically by the President, is dancing on the periphery with no certainty of where he is headed to," Kiunjuri revealed.

The National Assembly Majority Leader, Kimani Ichung'wah, disclosed that Ruto is planning another extensive visit to Mt Kenya to reconnect, listen and escalate the development agenda amid growing hostility.

3. The Star

The paper reported on President William Ruto's statement regarding free primary and secondary school education.

On July 27, Ruto differed with his Treasury Cabinet Secretary, John Mbadi, regarding the ability of the government to fund free education.

During a church service at ACK St Martin’s Light Industries Church in Kariobangi, he affirmed his administration's commitment to providing free, accessible, and quality education for all Kenyan children.

“Free primary education is the right of every Kenyan. Over the last two years, we have taken several measures to ensure education is truly universal and accessible," Ruto said.

4. Taifa Leo

The publication reported on the clash between police officers and former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua's allies in Murang'a county.

On Sunday, July 26, Gachagua's allies attended a church service and later attempted to address public rallies in Kigumo town.

However, armed police officers mounted a roadblock along one of the major highways, blocking the leaders, including Nyandarua senator John Methu, from accessing Kigumo town.

The situation eventually escalated into mayhem, as a teargas canister was hurled at Methu as he was engaging with the police officer.

Gachagua later issued a statement strongly condemning the Kenya Kwanza Alliance administration over the alleged use of police officers and goons to attack opposition leaders
