UDA MP Claims Raila Odinga Is Playing Ruto ahead of 2027, Asks Him to Reconcile with Gachagua

In a post on Facebook on Sunday, July 27, Njoroge reacted to recent public statements by a section of ODM leader Raila Odinga's close allies.

Is Raila Odinga planning to dump Ruto in 2027?

According to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) lawmaker, Raila's close allies have been sending mixed signals regarding the 2027 poll.

He claimed public utterances by Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, and Embakasi MP Babu Owino hint at the former prime minister scheming to betray Ruto.

"Observing the utterances from CS Mbadi, Sifuna, Babu, Orengo and friends, Raila Odinga anacheza William Samoei Ruto. Ruto beware," Njoroge said.

The Gatundu North lawmaker posted another message advising Ruto on how to easily secure his reelection in 2027.

Should Ruto reconcile with Gachagua ahead of 2027?

The controversial UDA lawmaker urged Ruto to reconcile with the former deputy president, Rigathi Gachagua.

According to Njoroge, Ruto is safer planning his 2027 reelection with Gachagua than with the former prime minister.

"William Samoei Ruto, it's safer to plan 2027 with Rigathi Gachagua, than with Raila Odinga," the lawmaker said before deleting the post hours later.

Will Raila Odinga vie in 2027?

In related developments, Homa Bay senator Moses Kajwang' hinted at Raila being on the 2027 presidential ticket.

Speaking on Saturday, July 26, at a burial in Rusinga Island, Kajwang' said ODM will not be swallowed by another political party.

The senator ruled out the possibility of the Orange Party supporting another presidential candidate.

He stated that ODM cannot afford to be dissolved due to its partnership with another political party, citing an instance where other political parties merged with others.
