The Kenya Kwanza administration has been dispatching emissaries to court Kalonzo, urging him to join the coalition, with the promise that he will be Ruto's running mate.

Ruto's inner circle is scheming on how the president can secure his reelection without banking on Mt Kenya voting bloc.

The majority of Kenya Kwanza Alliance strategists think Mt Kenya might not vote for Ruto after he fell out with his former deputy, Rigathi Gachagua.

Is Kithure Kindiki performing well as DP?

However, in a tweet, Ledama termed reports about replacing the former Tharaka Nithi senator as nonsense.

The ODM senator defended Kindiki, arguing that he has been doing his work effectively and that there is no need to replace him.

According to the Narok senator, discussions about replacing Kindiki are a waste of time, and Kenyans should focus on building the country.

"Enough with this nonsense about replacing Kindiki as Ruto’s running mate in 2027. How about you focus on building Kenya and delivering for the people instead? NKT. Kindiki is doing his job — and doing it damn well — as the deputy, so cut the noise," Ledama said.

How can William Ruto be re-elected?

Meanwhile, a political analyst explained how Ruto can secure his 2027 reelection bid without relying on Mt Kenya votes.

Speaking to the press on Monday, July 28, Manyora suggested that Ruto's win in 2027 will depend on the choice of his running mate.

According to Manyora, Ruto's chances of winning the presidency will be minimal if he retains Kindiki as his running mate.

He stated that the only possible way for Ruto to win the elections fair and square is by picking a muslim running mate.

The political analyst argued that the muslim voting bloc will bring five million votes, which he argued would cancel out the Mt Kenya supremacy.

Will Raila Odinga dump Ruto in 2027?

In other political news, Gatundu North MP Elijah Njoroge cautioned Ruto against trusting ODM leader Raila Odinga.

In a post on Facebook, Njoroge claimed the former prime minister might be scheming to dump Ruto in 2027.

The UDA lawmaker suggested that the president should reconcile with Gachagua for the sake of his reelection.
