On Friday, August 1, DAP-K held the National Management Committee meeting at the Chui House Party Headquarters, where a petition to kick out Nambeya as the deputy party leader was received.

Which party is George Natembeya planning to launch?

The petition by Benard Wakamala seeks the expulsion of the Trans Nzoia governor from the party for funding the registration and promotion of another political party known as Conservation for Democracy in Kenya (COD-K).

According to the petitioner, Natembeya used close aides to register a new political party amid claims of fallout with Wamalwa.

"Petition for the expulsion of the deputy party leader and the governor of Trans Nzoia, George Natembeya, for funding the registration and/or promotion of another political party known as the Conservation for Democracy in Kenya (CoD-K) through proxies," the petition seen by TUKO.co.ke reads.

During the meeting, Wamalwa said the party will not entertain any form of indiscipline or political theatrics.

"Party leader Eugene Wamalwa has emphasised that we are a democratic formation with structures designed to resolve issues peacefully and decisively. We will not entertain indiscipline or political theatrics. Those seeking shortcuts will be met by the full force of our systems," DAP-K said in a statement.

Is George Natembeya planning a coup in DAP-K?

In a tweet after the meeting, Wamalwa accused Natembeya of attempting to overthrow his leadership in the party.

The former Cabinet minister challenged the Trans Nzoia governor to face off on the party's presidential nomination instead of wrecking the party.

"My brother @pksalasya, both you and my brother @GeorgeNatembeya do not have to leave or cause a coup in our DAP-K party in order to become party leaders or presidential candidates, you are welcome to face me for the presidential ticket in free and fair nominations, as ours is truly a democratic party that can allow us all to realise our political aspirations through internal democracy without wrecking our party or washing our dirty linen in public!" Wamalwa said.

Is George Natembeya planning to join government?

In other news, the Trans Nzoia governor dismissed reports that he is planning to join President William Ruto's Kenya Kwanza administration.

Speculations emerged online after Natembeya hosted Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen on July 28.

However, Natembeya explained that their meeting centred on a series of challenges unique to Trans Nzoia, including land grabbing, farming among others.
