He hilariously suggested that, since independence, Kenya has never had a president more learned than him.

“I’ve served as an MP for 15 years and as deputy president for 10. I’m not too old, I’m young and capable. Kenya has never had a president who is also a PhD holder — and that’s me,” Ruto said.

What did William Ruto learn from Uhuru Kenyatta?

Ruto stated that his humble background, from being a chicken vendor to the president, has made him grasp the issues affecting Kenyans.

“I was born and raised in the grassroots. I understand Kenya’s problems. There has never been a president with my level of education, knowledge, and experience. That’s why I must perform,” the president said.

The head of state further stated that he has no excuse for not delivering on his promises given he has drawn wide experience from all four previous presidents.

“I have Jomo Kenyatta’s courage, Moi’s understanding, Kibaki’s education, and the development plan I shared with Uhuru. With that combination, I have no excuse but to transform the nation,” Ruto added as the crowd applauded.

Why does Peter Kaluma support William Ruto?

In other news, Homa Bay Town Member of Parliament Peter Kaluma lauded Ruto's development record.

While describing Ruto as the best president since independence, the ODM lawmaker wondered why some Kenyans were opposed to the Kenya Kwanza Alliance leader.

The lawmaker declared his support for the president's efforts to stabilise the country's economy and to promote national cohesion through his partnership with former prime minister Raila Odinga.

What can William Ruto do to become the best president?

Meanwhile, Roots Party leader George Wajackoyah said Ruto has the potential to be an effective leader.

During an interview at K24 on Tuesday, January, Wajackoyah said Ruto's mistake is having the wrong advisors.

According to the 2027 presidential hopeful, Ruto's leadership is being undermined by misguided statements from his allies.

He challenged the head of state to fire his inner circle and appoint competent Kenyans who can give him sound advice.
