"Sisi tunasema vijana wapewe nyafasi na retirees waende nyumbani" ( Let the young people have the opportunities and the retirees to go home)," he said.

At the same time, the ward representative lauded the president for opening the state house doors to the common citizen and helping nurture hope among the struggling population.

"What the president has done is historic because every leader in Nairobi has been given the opportunity to come with selected needy groups that will benefit from the empowerment," he added.

The MCA said the young people who attended the State House event are the beginning of what will end up as a pro-Ruto Gen Z movement ahead of the 2027 elections.

"We are going to have our Gen Zs, and you can see how happy they are today, yet it's just the beginning," he said.

Ruto took advantage of the event to call on the young people across the country to enrol in government programmes like the Social Health Authority, the Hustler Fund and the Youth Enterprise programs.

"I want to encourage every one of us to support these programs by enrolling so that no one is left behind in our development agenda," he said.

How Nairobi youth celebrated visiting State House

Some of the young people who were lucky to grace the event did not shy away from expressing their joy; they took to TikTok and other social media platforms, declaring their biggest visit in life, to the country's highest office.

Some of them mocked youths allied to the opposition, and were overheard shouting that the key to State House is through Strategy and not Protests.

What William Ruto said about economic empowerment

The president told off the naysayers who have been poking holes in the ongoing economic empowerment drives across the country.

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and Ruto's personal assistant, Farouk Kibet, have been leading troops of politicians allied to the broad-based government in the empowerment forums across counties.

Ruto said the initiatives won't stop at the naysayers' despise, adding that they would continue uninterrupted.

The president reminded his political detractors that he based his 2022 campaign on uplifting the ordinary citizenry, and hence, running empowerment programmes remains his top agenda.
