"Asante sana. Let me take some behind there," he said as he pointed at a student identified as Jevin Oloo, not knowing what awaited him.

The crowd of students cheered as if they could tell what their colleague had in mind.

Did Jevin Oyoo issue warning to Ruto?

When the crowd went quiet, courageous Oyoo warned the president of the repercussions of not listening to the pleas of Kenyans.

"Mr. President, I have a few questions to echo. First of all, this is the only chance I have got as a comrade to advise you, that it is very true that if you don't listen to the voters, you might listen to the returning officer," the student said amid cheers.

However, Oyoo made it very clear to the president that he was not against the Kenya Kwanza government.

He asserted that Ruto should ensure that he serves Kenyans well to retain their support during his tenure.

"It is very true that if you don't listen to the voters, then in 2027 you might listen to the returning officer. I am saying this boldly as a believer of kumi bila break so usituharibie appetite. Make sure you do what the voters want, so that we celebrate you in 2027," Oyoo said.

Jevin Oloo calls out Kenya Kwanza govt

He further called out the Kenya Kwanza government, stating that they do a lot of things for formality without proper execution.

"You come, we sit, we talk, we articulate a lot of things. I want you to know that you are not the problem; the problem is the people who work for you. Watu wanasema unatenga lakini hautengi, shida ni watu wa mkono," Oyoo stated.

The bold student further requested that the head of state call the people who work with him and tell them how to better serve Kenyans.

JKUAT student hits out at Ruto

Oyoo's incident was not the first of its kind. In August 2024, Gichangi Gitonga, JKUAT secretary-general, hit out at the head of state during a town hall engagement meeting.
