Nairobi: Speculations as Sifuna, Babu Owino Hold Strategic Meeting with 3 Other MPs

Nairobi - A meeting of certain youthful politicians has attracted mixed reactions from Kenyans as the political temperature heats up ahead of the 2027 election.

On Tuesday, August 12, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) secretary general Edwin Sifuna held a meeting with four Members of Parliament at a Nairobi hotel.

Among those who attended the meeting were Babu Owino (Embakasi East), Caleb Amisi (Saboti), Gathoni Wamuchomba (Githunguri) and Anthony Kibagendi (Kitutu Chache South).

Although the agenda of the meeting was not disclosed, the Saboti lawmaker hinted that it concerned the country's future.

"I had to take a moment out of my study leave to join my colleagues in discussing the future of our country. Out of this, I am hopeful Kenya shall achieve the much-needed renaissance! Great minds discuss ideas," Amisi said.

When the lawmakers shared the photos of their meeting, Kenyans were quick to suggest they might be forming a third political force ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Most of the leaders who attended the meeting are opposed to President William Ruto's 2027 reelection bid.

Why are Sifuna and Amisi opposed to William Ruto?

As reported earlier, some of the youthful lawmakers met in Trans Nzoia county where they declared their opposition to Ruto's administration.
