Gachagua is slated to return to Kenya on Thursday, August 21.
Will Gachagua's flight be diverted?
Through an official statement, the party alleged a plan by members of the government and its allies to divert Gachagua's flight to land far away from Nairobi.
This is in anticipation of a rousing reception he might get upon touchdown in the capital.
DCP deputy leader Cleophas Malala claimed that Belgut MP Nelson Koech is coordinating plans to have Gachagua's landing diverted to either Kisumu or Mombasa.
Koech is the chairman of the National Assembly's Defence Intelligence and Foreign Relations Committee.
"A plan to divert Gachagua’s flight to Mombasa or Kisumu International Airport so that they deny him an opportunity to give a much-anticipated address to the nation. This disruptive plan by a paranoid regime will not only disrupt the travel plans of innocent passengers but also risk damaging Kenya’s foreign relations," Malala claimed in a statement seen by TUKO.co.ke.
Further, the party alleged that Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen were undertaking plans to harm Gachagua.
According to Malala, Gachagua's detractors want him dead.
He asserted that the government plans to arrest Gachagua and confine him to house detention, where he will ultimately be killed.

Cleophas Malala claims govt planning to assassinate Gachagua upon arrival at JKIA: "Intelligence reaching us"
The party warned that the country would "grind to a halt" should the enemies succeed in their attempt on their leader's life.
"Intelligence reaching us points to a scheme so evil, so cowardly, that it chills the soul: their intent is to subject him to slow and silent assassination by poisoning - the very same cruel method once inflicted on the late Kenneth Matiba while in state custody. This is not hearsay. It is a deliberate plot to silence the voice of the people by physically destroying its leader. Their plan upon his arrival at JKIA is to abduct, intimidate, brutalise and eventually place him under house arrest, cut him off from his supporters, and deny him the right to address the nation. They want to kill his voice and his body at the same time," the party claimed.
Why did Gachagua cut short his US tour?
The politician, who departed Kenya on July 9, was to spend at least two months in the United States.

He, however, announced his return on Thursday, August 14.
Gachagua's party revealed that he returned to organise his team for the November 27 by-elections.
In the course of his tour in the US, Gachagua sustained his attacks on President William Ruto's regime.
He said the president has run down the economy, at one point asking the Kenyan diasporians to hold back their remittances to the country until a new regime is installed.
Who wants Gachagua arrested?
Meanwhile, CS Murkomen had hinted at the law enforcers detaining Gachagua upon his arrival in Nairobi to shed more light on the claims that the president met with members of the Somalia-based terror group Al Shabaab.
While riding on a US senator's initiative to probe Kenya's non-NATO ally status due to links with China and other infamous groups, Gachagua sensationally claimed that Ruto had ever met with representatives of Al Shabaab in Mandera.
Reacting to his sentiments, Murkomen faulted the former deputy president for reckless talk that would otherwise pose a threat to national security.
The CS declared that Gachagua would be compelled to provide evidence for the assertion.
