Speaking at an engagement forum in Olathe, Kansas City, Gachagua confirmed that he is cooperating with US authorities in the ongoing probe.

Why should Rigathi Gachagua be arrested?

But according to Roba, Gachagua's allegations constitute treason and that the former DP should be arrested immediatelty he lands in the country.

"Rigathi Gachagua’s acts constitute treason and demand immediate action. Rigathi Gachagua has crossed the red line. By sharing fabricated falsehoods with a foreign government to undermine the President and destabilise our country after his impeachment, he has committed nothing less than espionage and treason. This is not politics. It is betrayal of the Republic. It is a direct assault on Kenya’s sovereignty," Roba stated.

The Mandera senator cited several provisions of the constitution, including Article 3(1), which states that every person must uphold and defend the Constitution and Article 131(1)(c), which provides that the president safeguards sovereignty and no individual may undermine it.
