Gachagua cut short his tour of the United States after over eight weeks of traversing various states, meeting with his supporters.

DCP deputy leader Cleophas Malala said Gachagua will touch down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in the afternoon, and will be received by his supporters and proceed to the Kamukunji grounds, where he will address them.

"We confirm that His Excellency Rigathi Gashagua will touch down at noon at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi and will be received by thousands of Kenyans at the airport," Malala said.

Malala, however, anticipated an event when Gachagua's return flight might be diverted to land away from Nairobi.

He suggested the Mombasa and Kisumu airports the where he would land, should diversion indeed happen.

Gachagua's deputy called on their supporters to equally show up for him should his flight end in either of the locations.

"In the event that his plane gets diverted to either Kisumu or Mombasa, he will still be received by our supporters in those respective cities and we have made adequate plans and alternative logistics to that effect. In any case, we are aware that the instructions from Mr. William Ruto are still active," Malala said.

The grand plan is Gachagua landing in Nairobi and meeting his supporters on his way to Kamukunji.

Malala revealed that DCP had shared its itinerary with the police to facilitate a smooth procession from the JKIA to the final destination.

"Once our party leader touches down, we shall have a peaceful procession into the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) and address our supporters and the people of Kenya at various stopovers. We have advised the National Police Service through various OCS accordingly and given a copy of the advisory to the Independent Police Oversight Authority (IPOA)," Malala added.

Gachagua risks arrest immediately after landing.

A few weeks back, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen said the former deputy president ought to be detained and made to record statements owing to some of his pronouncements while in the US.

In one of the fora abroad, Gachagua authoritatively claimed that President William Ruto had ever met with members of the Somalia-based terror group Al Shabaab, and was also undertaking illegal dealings with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of Sudan.

The CS noted that Gachagua's claims posed a threat to national security, and he should therefore be held to account.

Meanwhile, Malala warned that any attempt to arrest Gachagua would plunge the country into chaos as his supporters would not allow the arrest.
