This comes as a potential showdown between Gachagua's supporters and police officers seems imminent.
"Any person, any political party, any politician, calling for a meeting, we just need them to notify the police. They must ensure that their meeting is peaceful and does not lead to situations of disrupting the peace of others or burning of property or looting," Murkomen said.
While echoing Murkomen's remarks, Kanja warned that anyone who breaks the law would face the consequences.
He argued that the police were expecting that Gachagua's arrival would be peaceful, as he would arrive just like any other Kenyan.
"Our stance is that we expect him to arrive in the country just like any other Kenyan would," Kanja said.
Is Rigathi Gachagua required to record statement?
Kanja stated that Gachagua may be required to record a statement with the police following his remarks in the US.
Gachagua had alleged that the President William Ruto-led Kenyan Kwanza government has ties with Sudan's Rapid Support Forces (RSF) paramilitary group and the Al-Shabaab.
"There is nobody who is above the law, so if there is any law that has been broken, then someone has to record a statement," Kanja told Citizen TV.
On the other hand, DCP deputy leader Cleophas Malala claimed that there were plans to use goons to sabotage their procession and called on the police to ensure their security.
"We are well informed and we know that National Security Agencies will be in tow both at the airport and during the procession, as such, we want to make this clear, we are a peaceful people and our meet and greet Nairobi people is as such," Malala said.

This came amid claims that the government could divert Gachagua's flight from Nairobi to Kisumu International Airport.
The DCP grassroots leadership in Kisumu on Wednesday, August 20, said they were prepared to stage a historic reception should their party leader's return from the US take an unexpected turn.
