Former Garissa North MP Abdikadir Hassan Yussuf Passes Away

The family of the late Garissa North Member of Parliament, Abdikadir Hassan Yussuf, has been thrown into mourning following his death.

A statement issued by the Fafi Member of Parliament, Abdikarim Osman, states that the deceased was pronounced on Friday, August 22.

According to reports, the former legislator was on his way back to Kenya from Australia.

The exact cause of Yusuf's death was yet to be made public.

Fafi MP joined Kenyans in mourning the death of Yusuf while expressing his deep sorrow

"I am deeply saddened by the passing of former Garissa North MP Hon. Abdikadir Hassan Yussuf alias Tallie, who passed away earlier today," Osman's statement read in part.

He further extended his condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. He prayed that God my give them the strength during this difficult time.

"I pray that Allah grants them strength and patience to bear this loss. May the Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him an eternal abode in Jannatul Firdaus. Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un," he further stated.

Duale mourns ex-Garissa North MP

Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale also mourned the former legislator. He issued a heartfelt prayer to God on his behalf.

"Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un", “Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return." Following the death of our leader and elder Hon Abdikadir Hassan Yusuf ( Tolli), Former MP Garissa North Constituency," Duale's statement read in part.

“O Allah, forgive him and elevate his station among those who are guided. Send him along the path of those who came before, and forgive us and him, O Lord of the worlds. Enlarge for him his grave and shed light upon him in it," he added.

Ex-Baringo North MP dies

This comes months after the Baringo North MP, Willy Rotich, passed away.

According to a statement released by the late politician's family, he died while receiving treatment at a medical facility in Nairobi.

The family, however, did not reveal the specific type of disease that claimed the life of the politician

Rotich was a veteran politician who served as the first Baringo North Constituency from 1963 to 1969 under the Kenya Africa Democratic Union (KADU) ticket.

After a 14-year hiatus, Rotich returned to politics and began serving as a nominated MP in 1983 before he was re-elected in 1988, where he served until 1997.

Rotich's death marks the third in recent times. This is after two other politicians passed away in Baringo county.
