Manchester United legend Paul Scholes launched a scathing attack on Alejandro Garnacho after the club's 1-1 draw against Real Sociedad.

The Argentine assisted Joshua Zirkzee's goal but was hooked late in the first half by Ruben Amorim.

What did Scholes say about Garnacho?

Alejandro Garnacho has not scored in the last 22 games, and his decision-making has been called into question.

This season, he has played 42 games in all competitions and registered eight goals and seven assists. He has one goal under Ruben Amorim, who took charge in November.

He was taken off in the 78th minute against Real Sociedad, probably with Arsenal's clash on Sunday in mind. Scholes was not happy with Garnacho's body language.

"He looks like he’s sulking a bit," Scholes said via The Mirror. "I’m not having the fatigue thing."
"I was a little disappointed with Garnacho because his biggest strength is running through...Sometimes he makes the wrong decisions or plays the wrong ball but he just lacked a bit of energy tonight.

Amorim said the 20-year-old was tired.

"I felt he (Garnacho) was tired," Amorim said via MEN. "You see it because we did a lot of transitions in the second half because sometimes he was late to defend."

The Argentina international is the only wide player in the club's squad following Marcus Rashford and Antony's departure in January.

Should Man United replace Garnacho?

The winger was linked with a move away from Old Trafford in January, and was reportedly close to leaving.

Last week, he was punished by Ruben Amorim for his reaction to substitution against Ipswich. He was dropped in December but was brought back to the team.

Despite those issues, he has been a bright spot in the club's poor campaign.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Garnacho recently revealed that the attacker could be sold in the summer.

MEN also reported that the club's new football leadership group said nobody in the squad is "untouchable."

In April 2023, he signed a five-year deal until 2028 and the club could cash in to improve their dire financial situation. In January, Amorim said he is happy with Garnacho.

"I'm happy to have Garnacho here," he told TNT Sports. "He's improving a lot. He's a young talented guy."
"You want to work with these guys with talent. That's what drives the coaches to improve the team; to have these kind of players that you know they are going to improve a lot."

Did Garnacho ignore a Man United fan?

TUKO.co.ke earlier reported that Garnacho appeared to ignore a fan after they knocked out of the FA Cup by Fulham.

In a viral video, Garnacho is spotted sitting in his car as the young fan waited for an autograph before driving away.
