Amorim's wife problem with Manchester

According to The Sun via GOAL, Amorim's wife, Maria Joao Diogo is reportedly unhappy due to the unpleasant weather in the city.

The report adds that Maria has struggled with wind, rain and dark nights since she moved to England. The city is known for its gloomy and rainy weather compared to Lisbon.

Amorim's family relocated to England in November but his wife's dislike for the weather is perhaps a concern for the former Sporting CP boss.

Manchester weather has been an issue before for the wife of a Man United player. Angel Di Maria, for instance, briefly played for the club before moving to France.

Amorim has been married to Maria since 2013 after a colourful wedding attended by some football's biggest stars in Portugal, per The Mirror.

The report adds that Maria is an accomplished designer and entrepreneur. The couple have two kids.

Amorim's record at Man United

The 40-year-old coach has been in the hot seat since November and things have not gone the way he expected.

Impressive wins over Manchester City were followed by humiliating home defeats to Newcastle and Crystal Palace.

His 3-4-3 system has not worked so far mainly because of a lack of players that suit it. He fell out with Marcus Rashford, an academy graduate, which resulted in a loan move in January.

"The problem of our team is not the system. We have a lot of problems, we are trying to work on these problems, of course every system needs different characteristics. But I was always really clear. I have one idea," Amorim said via MEN.

In January, there was talk of an unthinkable relegation from the Premier League, something he admitted.

They are 14th in the Premier League with 33 points, 16 above the relegation zone and have some tough games left. They are on track for their worst finish since they were relegated in 1974.

The Premier League giants are favourites to win the Europa League this season but their performances leave a lot to be desired.

Winning it is their only path to European football next season unless they win all their remaining league matches.

Why Amorim took off Garnacho

TUKO.co.ke earlier reported that Amorim substituted Alejandro Garnacho during their Europa League clash vs Real Sociedad.

The winger was taken off late in the second half with the game tied 1-1 and Amorim said he was tired.
