The Reds are currently top of the Premier League table with 76 points from 32 matches, enjoying a strong campaign under the guidance of manager Arne Slot.
Arsenal sit second with 67 points, having played the same number of games as Arne Slot’s Liverpool side.
As things stand, their hopes of lifting the Premier League trophy are just a dream that will never come true.
Goals from Luis Díaz and captain Virgil van Dijk were enough for Arne Slot's side to secure all three points in the highly anticipated Merseyside Derby at Anfield.
Meanwhile, Arsenal had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Brentford.
The Gunners, however, still find themselves in a strong position to challenge for the UEFA Champions League title, provided they can overcome Real Madrid and carry their current form into the semifinals.
Why Liverpool could be crowned Premier League champions this weekend
According to GiveMe Sport, Liverpool need just six points—equivalent to two straight wins—to be crowned Premier League champions.
If they secure those points, Arne Slot's side will be 82 points ahead of the Gunners.
This also depends on whether Arsenal lose to struggling Ipswich Town and Liverpool beat Leicester in their upcoming matches.
