The former France star will make his debut on May 23 at the Accor Arena in Paris but his opponent is year to be announced.
The Professional Fighters League (PFL) said his friend, Cédric Doumbé, has been helping to train him, and his opponent will be announced soon.
“You guys should know by now, I love this game too! I’ve performed on the world’s biggest stages, won every major trophy in football, but PFL Europe Paris will be an incredibly special night for me,” said Patrice Evra.
“I’ve been training alongside the best in the world for years, and they’ll also tell you I’m ready for this. I’m going to put on a show at the Accor Arena on 23 May, so come watch the spectacle.”
Patrice Evra calls out Luis Suarez
Shortly after PFL made the announcement, Evra took to X to confirm but he sent a message to Luis Suarez.
"I’m officially training for my first fight with @PFLEurope. They will pick my opponent...They asked who I wanna face. I said: Luis Suárez. I’ll pay out of pocket. He can even bite me."
His opponent for his MMA debut is still unknown, but it is unlikely that Suarez will be inside the cage in May.
Evra enjoyed his best years as a footballer at Manchester United. He played for them between 2006 and 2014, winning five Premier League titles and the Champions League.
He made 379 appearances under Sir Alex Ferguson. The Frenchman also represented Monaco, Juventus, and Marseille. He retired with 81 caps for France.
Luis Suarez and Patrice Evra history
Evra and Suarez have a history. Suarez racially abused the full-back in October 2011 at Anfield when Liverpool hosted Man United.
The Uruguayan was banned for eight matches after the incident, but Liverpool players were blasted for controversially wearing t-shirts to support the striker after the verdict had been handed down.

Evra recently said he forgave Suarez and had a chat in the tunnel when Juventus met Barcelona in the Champions League final in 2015.
“I will never call Suarez a racist person, because I don’t know him personally. Even when we played in the Champions League final, when I was playing for Juventus, I shook his hand in the corridor and spoke to him. I forgive really fast."
Suarez has had controversial incidents in his career. He bit Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini at the 2014 World Cup and Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic when Liverpool played the Blues in 2013.
