How Harry Maguire destroyed Athletic Club defender
The central defender destroyed his marker on the wing before his cross was flicked by Manuel Ugarte and turned in by Casemiro.
The goal gave Man United the lead in the 30th minute before they added two more after a controversial red card was shown to Daniel Vivian. Bruno Fernandes scored the penalty before adding another late in the first half.

The defender was told he was called 'Harrydinho' on social media and shared his thoughts after the match.
“It’s brilliant. I'm sure there's a few nicknames out there for me,” Maguire told TNT Sports. “I found myself attacking the back post and I think Garna passed me the ball."
“It was nice to do a bit of dribbling out there and put in a great cross. We had a lot of bodies in the box so they must have trusted me to get that cross in. It was a nice feeling and it was a great header.”
Maguire was the hero in the quarter final against Lyon, and his goal helped the Red Devils win 3-0 and take a major step towards the Europa League final.

Ruben Amorim: Harry Maguire needs to enjoy it
Man United coach Ruben Amorim jokingly called Harry Maguire a "good winger."
“Sometimes you have these moments in your life, when everything he did was bad for him. I don’t know a better word to describe it. Now everything he does is help the team win important matches, so he needs to enjoy it, and the players need to understand that the life of a footballer is like that, and everything can change in one moment,” he told Manchester United's website.

Amorim also warned his side to be wary of Bilbao next week, despite boasting a healthy 3-0 advantage.
"I think we had opportunities to score one more. This is not done. They can do the same in Old Trafford because they are really strong, they are really intense. One sending off can happen in our stadium, so we need to be prepared."
How did Harry Maguire overcome tough period?
Maguire joined Man United in 2019 and was seen as a long-term solution to their defensive problems. He started well, but things went downhill a few years into his spell at Old Trafford.
He was booed by fans and stripped of the captaincy, and it appeared his career at the club was over.
However, in the 2023/24 season, he bounced back brilliantly to become one of the team's best players.
Maguire opens up on scoring game winner
TUKO.co.ke earlier reported that Maguire opened up after scoring a game winner against Lyon in the quarter-final.
The England defender scored a last-minute winner to avoid a penalty shootout. They had squandered a 2-0 lead in the second half.
Lyon played with 10 men for the majority of extra time and even took a 4-2 lead, but collapsed in the end.
Martin Moses, the head of the sports department, contributed to this article by adding details about Amorim's thoughts after the game.
