What injury did Enzo Fernandez have?
Fans were concerned after the Chelsea star played against Manchester United with one side of his face looking puffy and swollen.
Despite the apparent issues with his eyesight, he lasted the entire 90 minutes as the Blues secured a vital 1-0 win over the Red Devils to take another huge step towards qualifying for the Champions League next season.
Marc Cucurella was the difference-maker at Stamford Bridge, heading in a beautiful cross from Reece James in the 70th minute.
After the game, Chelsea fans started questioning why their players had mysterious injuries. Apart from Fernandez's eye, Moises Caicedo was seen wearing a face mask while the suspended Nicolas Jackson had a plaster on his face.
Why Enzo Fernandez has been playing with 'one eye'
It has, however, since emerged that Fernandez has been playing with conjunctivitis, which explains the eye issue. BBC Sports reports that the World Cup-winning midfielder has played through the bout of illness in the last two games.
He had the symptoms in the loss to Newcastle United but specifically asked to play in both games as the Blues hunt down that Champions League spot.
What is conjunctivitis?
Mayo Clinic defines conjunctivitis as the inflammation of the transparent membrane (conjunctiva) that lines the eyelid and eyeball. Also known as the pink eye, conjunctivitis can be caused by a viral or bacterial infection.
What did Enzo Fernandez say about his 'one-eye' injury?
The Argentine was pumped up after Chelsea's win over Manchester United. He took to Instagram and said,
"Last match at home with this group that will give it all until the end, we have two finals left. Thank you to the fans for the support all season. My first game playing with one eye."
What injury did Moises Caicedo get?
As for Caicedo, it has since emerged that he injured his cheekbone in the loss to Newcastle last weekend.

Enzo Fernandez's stats for Chelsea this season
The former Benfica man is having the best season in front of goal. He has seven goals and 13 assists so far as he aims to lead Chelsea back to the Champions League. He has continued in his role of captaining the side when Reece James is unavailable.
What next for Enzo Fernandez and Chelsea?
Luckily for the 24-year-old, he will have an extended period of time to recover fully before Chelsea play the most important games of their season.
After the Friday game against the Europa League finalists, Chelsea will have eight days off before they travel to the City Ground to play Nottingham Forest.
With only one point separating the two teams, a win for either side could guarantee Champions League football next season. A win for Chelsea will surely get them over the line because of their superior goal difference, while Forest will have to wait for the Aston Villa and Manchester City games, even if they win.
Conference League final
After the final day in the Premier League on Sunday, Enzo Maresca's side will have a short turnaround time before they fly to Poland for the Conference League final. They play Real Betis on Wednesday.
How Chelsea could potentially decline Champions League
In a related report, Chelsea could snub the Champions League even if they qualify for it.
The Blues will qualify for the competition they have won twice in their history, if they beat Nottingham Forest on the final day.
They could also qualify for the Europa League if they beat Real Betis in the Conference League final, but it has since emerged that they have the opportunity to choose which competition they want to play in.
