Will Amorim stay at Man United?

According to the Athletic, Ruben Amorim has told the Man United squad he will remain as coach next season. He also told Garnacho to find a new club.

After the Red Devils lost the Europa League final to Tottenham, Amorim offered to quit, but he will be in charge next season.

The former Sporting CP boss has insisted he won't change his 3-4-3 system, which has yet to yield results so far. In 41 matches, he has registered 16 wins and suffered 17 defeats.

"These six months was hard for all the club, so many changes inside our club, sometimes it takes five years to change all the personnel and a lot of things, changed coach in middle of season and way we played. It has been really tough," Amorim said on Saturday via MEN.

The Red Devils could finish as low as 18th, which will be their worst season in 51 years.

What did Amorim say about Garnacho?

The report adds that Amorim told Garnacho to find another club while addressing players at the Carrington training complex.

The Argentine winger made some controversial comments after their loss to Tottenham, and fans were not happy with him.

“It’s hard for everyone. The season was (expletive), both now losing the final tonight, and in the league, where we didn’t beat anyone, that’s the truth,” Garnacho told reporters. “Up until the final, I’ve played every round, and today to play 20 minutes… I don’t know. I’m going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens after.”

Garnacho's brother, Roberto, also made controversial comments that appeared to criticise Amorim. The Portuguese tactician dropped Garnacho and Rashford on December 15, but the Argentine was reinstated.

He was linked with a move in January, but a deal never arrived. The winger had to apologise for his reactions after he was taken off

He joined the club in 2020 from Atletico Madrid and has made 144 appearances. Selling him will give the Red Devils funds to add new names.

The club is gearing up for a busy summer transfer window. If Garnacho leaves, they will be looking for a better replacement.

"Very poor from Man United. They are a laughing stock right now despite calling themselves a big team. They will have to make many signings to improve for next season. I think they will be better, they must be better," football analyst Dan Ogega told TUKO.co.ke.
