What is happening to Old Trafford?

According to The Athletic, Old Trafford has received another hygiene downgrade after mouse droppings were found in hospitality areas.

The report adds that an inspection report from the Trafford Council, which was completed on April 16, said the club has worked hard to control the mice infestation, but several areas had mouse droppings. The good news is that the kitchen was clean.

Still, the stadium's general cleanliness was not good according to the report. Things like hot water or soap were not available.

The club has been urged to maintain efforts in eliminating the problem. A club spokesperson confirmed that they are actively tackling the mouse infestation.

“Manchester United implements a robust pest-control system throughout Old Trafford. Multiple weekly checks are made in all catering areas and stringent measures are taken to ensure levels of hygiene and cleanliness are high wherever food is stored, prepared and served."

In December 2024, their rating went down, and a year before that, they got a one-star rating. In December 2023, guests were served raw chicken a month after they got a five-star rating.
