The Blues are gearing up for the new season after a highly successful 2024/25 campaign. Having lifted the FIFA Club World Cup last month, they're now aiming to make a serious push for the Premier League title.
Chelsea are also one of the biggest spenders in the transfer market, adding the likes of Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, and Jamie Gittens.
Will Chelsea win the Premier League, Champions League?
Enzo Maresca's side haven’t won the Premier League since 2017, yet they’ve been the biggest spenders in recent seasons.
Last season, they stayed competitive with eventual champions Liverpool but faced a collapse, ultimately fighting for a Champions League spot.
They finished fourth, behind Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City, securing a spot in the Champions League, Europe's elite competition. Now, they are seen as serious contenders.
With their performances in the FIFA Club World Cup, the Blues are seen as one of their favourites. They stunned Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain in the final to lift the title.
Why won't Chelsea play in UEFA Super Cup?
Chelsea won their 2024/25 season by winning the UEFA Conference League in Wroclaw, Poland.
They crushed Real Betis 4-1 after going down 1-0 early in the first half. Goals from Enzo Fernandez, Nicolas Jackson, Jadon Sancho, and Moises Caicedo capped off a brilliant comeback.
"I am very proud and very happy for many reasons," Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca said after the game via the Premier League. "The fans have been waiting for two or three years for a good moment, they deserve that.
"This can be a starting point, from tonight. From this season, we can now build something important."
By winning the Conference, they completed the set of UEFA club trophies, having already won the Champions League, Europa League, UEFA Super Cup, and the now-defunct UEFA Cup Winners' Cup.
Despite lifting a European trophy, Chelsea will not be taking part in the UEFA Super Cup, because it only involves the Champions League and Europa League winners.
Tonight, Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain will clash for the UEFA Super Cup, with Luis Enrique's side having demolished Inter Milan 5-0 in the Champions League final.
