There are less than two months left in the summer transfer window, and the Red Devils have signed Matheus Cunha, their only major arrival.

Recently, they gave Rashford, Sancho, Antony, Tyrell Malacia, and Alejandro Garnacho permission to miss pre-season training to find new clubs.

Only Rashford has attracted interest, but there's still no deal for the England star.

What are Man United's plans for transfer window?

Ruben Amorim's team secured Cunha from Wolves early in the window, and fans were hoping for a few more signings following their worst season in 51 years.

However, they have yet to announce another signing. While they’ve been linked with Bryan Mbeumo, fans are growing increasingly frustrated as the deal continues to drag on.

Amorim said in May that without Champions League football, the plans will be different. He also said that they need some big names to bolster the squad after a 15th-place finish.

"Without the Champions League, we also don't need a big squad," Amorim said in May. "We can control the squad in a better way."

Moreover, reports in England indicate that the 13-time English champions need to sell to raise funds for purchases.

Why are Man United so bad at selling players?

The five aforementioned players are unlikely to be integrated back into Amorim's squad. They struggled on loan in the second half of the season.

Lack of interest

The primary reason the club is struggling to offload these players is the lack of interest from other clubs. With their poor form spanning several seasons, teams are hesitant to invest when they can acquire players at a fraction of the cost.

For instance, Chelsea were obligated to buy Sancho if they finished higher than 14th, but they opted out of the deal and had to pay a penalty.

The former Borussia Dortmund star struggled and has yet to attract significant interest.

Huge player wages

Secondly, some of these players are on massive weekly wages that other teams are unwilling to match. Some of them are also reportedly not looking to take a pay cut.

Oversupply of left-wingers?

There is an oversupply of left-wingers compared to right-wingers, and Manchester United are attempting to offload three of them.

As a result, these players are unlikely to attract interest from top clubs in need of left-sided attackers, per The Athletic.

The report adds that clubs now prefer emerging talent over proven players.

What does Man United need?

After a 15th-place finish, Man United expect the club to be aggressive in the market.

They struggled to score goals, and they've added Matheus Cunha to address that, but is that enough?

With Christian Eriksen gone, they need a replacement. Carlos Baleba and Lamine Camara are seen as potential signings.

What is Matheus Cunha's jersey number?

In a related report, TUKO.co.ke reported that new Man United signing Matheus Cunha reacted to taking Marcus Rashford's jersey number.

The Brazilian highlighted some of the players who wore the number before, including Wayne Rooney.

Cunha said it is a dream to wear the shirt number and is hoping to make a difference next season.
