Chelsea vs PSG preview

It will be the culmination of a month-long competition that no one initially wanted due to the excessive number of games forced on players.

But the tournament has gotten new admirers as it progressed, with one of Chelsea or PSG now set to win the first trophy of the revamped format.

Both clubs won European trophies before flying to the USA, but PSG are arguably the team to beat after stunning Inter Milan 5-0 in the Champions League final.

Enzo Maresca has also seemingly found a winning formula with his Chelsea side, guiding them back to the Champions League and winning the Conference League.

Mysterious dog makes Club World Cup prediction

In a TikTok video that has since gone viral, a dog has predicted who will possibly win the Sunday final.

The dog is given cereal and biscuits on two separate bowls bearing the names of the two teams. It is then asked to pick food from one bowl.

In its prediction, the dog picked the bowl with Chelsea's name, sending the Blues faithful in the comment section into a meltdown.

Philip said,

"PSG will explain to us on Sunday why they beat our little brothers 'Arsenal' in the Champions League."

Moshleeuug said,

"Inshallah. Chelsea will win Yarabby."

While Off the Grid said,

"I trust that dog; it has never lied to me."

A quick scan of the TikTok profile shows that the dog normally predicts matches. Its most popular prediction was Fluminense beating Inter Milan in the Round of 16.

The Champions League finalists were favourites going into the game, but were stunned by Thiago Silva's Fluminense 2-0.

It also correctly predicted Bayern Munich's win over Flamengo in the Round of 16.

However, it has also consistently gotten other matches incorrectly. The dog backed Real Madrid to beat PSG in the semi-finals, but the latter won 4-0.

It also backed Bayern Munich to win the quarter-final match, but PSG emerged victorious despite getting two red cards.

Supercomputer predicts FIFA Club World Cup

At the same time, Opta's supercomputer has backed PSG to win the FIFA Club World Cup final, giving them a 42.2% chance of victory. Their opponents have been given a 31.4% chance to win it.

The two teams last met in the 2015-16 UEFA Champions League Round of 16, where PSG progressed with a 4-2 aggregate score.

Enzo Fernandez: Focus is key

Chelsea midfielder has called on his teammates to be focused when they take to the pitch on Sunday. The Argentine star, who knows all too well about winning a World Cup, could captain the team if Reece James starts on the bench.

"The key, I think, is that in finals you play very focused. We know that we can’t give them space, and we know that we can't give them chances, because they have very good players," he told Chelsea's website.

"Winning this Club World Cup would be very important for the club. Obviously, Chelsea have won it in the past, but a second wouldn’t be a bad thing! So we’ve been preparing for the match in the best possible way. We know we are facing a great team, but we are confident in ourselves and are also a great team."
