What Donald Trump told Chelsea players after Club World Cup win emerges

Chelsea beat PSG 3-0 thanks to a brilliant first-half performance from Cole Palmer. Palmer scored twice and set up another before the team defended gallantly for the remainder of the game.

The two presidents awarded him the Player of the Tournament award, gave Robert Sanchez the Golden Glove, while PSG's Desire Doue won the Young Player of the Tournament award.

Real Madrid's Gonzalo Garcia won the Golden Boot but was not present in New Jersey to receive his award in person.

The drama came when it was time to award the trophy to the captain of the winning team, Reece James.

Normally, the executive who hands over the trophy gives it to the team captain before leaving the podium to allow them to lift.

Infantino and Trump jointly gave James the trophy, but only the former left the stage, with the latter having no memo that he was supposed to follow suit.
