Tuanzebe was seen as the next big academy graduate at Manchester United, but he struggled with injuries and eventually left without making an impact.

Still, he played in the Premier League at Ipswich last season and is set to represent newcomers Burnley in the upcoming season.

Why did Axel Tuanzebe 'fail' at Man United?

The defender captained the club at every level but only made 37 appearances between 2017 and 2021, with his final game the Europa League final against Villarreal.

Injuries and stiff competition hindered the defender from fully realising his potential. However, he rose to the occasion when called upon, such as in the memorable Champions League match against PSG in 2020.

How did fans react to Axel Tuanzebe suing Man United?

@sampeoples_:

"Nothing to see here, just a former academy lad suing the club for bad medical advice. Our injury management has been abysmal for the longest time, so I fully expect there to be some justification to this from Tuanzebe."

@TerfaTG:

"Malacia and even Lisandro in recent times have been totally mismanaged in their rehabilitation. The club is a shambles on and off the pitch."

@HEISEN83RG

"Probably more ex/current United players that could go down this path too."

@TarylT:

"If he is successful expect there to be a long queue of ex and possibly current players doing the same thing."
