Arsenal took their pre-season in Asia ahead of their 2025/26 season after going to the USA last year. They planned for three matches in Singapore and Hong Kong against AC Milan, Newcastle United, and Tottenham Hotspur.

They will open their season with a mouth-watering clash against bitter rivals Manchester United on August 17

How did Arsenal perform against AC Milan?

The Gunners took to the pitch at the National Stadium in Singapore for their first game at the venue since 2018, aiming to make a positive start to their pre-season.

The Gunners dominated the first half but were unable to convert their clear-cut chances. Bukayo Saka opened the scoring early in the second half, tapping in Jakub Kiwior's cross that narrowly missed everyone.

The England star met the ball at the far post and calmly slotted it in. AC Milan goalkeeper Lorenzo Torriani was outstanding in the second half, denying the Gunners any further goals.

New signings Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and Christian Norgaard all tasted action. The Gunners lost the penalty shootout after the game.

Which trophy did Arsenal win after beating AC Milan?

After the penalty shootout, the Gunners lifted the Tridentity Cup, presented by Trident Digital Tech Holdings.

Captain Martin Odegaard was spotted lifting the trophy in front of fans at the National Stadium.

The Gunner finished second in the Premier League last season and then reached the semi-final of the Champions League. It was their fifth straight season without a trophy.

"It's good, winning and a clean sheet as well, overall a very good performance, a very consistent performance throughout the game. We had a lot of changes, we’ve seen the players are playing at a very high level," Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said after the game.
"A big joy as well to watch so many young kids playing at 15, 16, 17 years old performing at that level, overall, very good."

What next for Arsenal after AC Milan win?

The Gunners will face Newcastle United on Sunday, July 27, at he same venue and then clash with Tottenham Hotspur in Hong Kong, two days later.

After their tour in Asia, they will face Spanish sides Villarreal and Athletic Club at the Emirates Stadium before their mouth-watering Premier League opener against Manchester United.
