Liverpool defender Kostas Tsimikas has unveiled a new tattoo as a heartfelt tribute to his teammate Diogo Jota, who tragically passed away in a car crash.

Liverpool fans, players, and staff are still struggling to come to terms with the untimely passing of Jota earlier this month. His death sent shockwaves through the sports world, and its impact continues to be felt.
How have Liverpool honoured Diogo Jota?
The Reds will have to adapt to playing without Jota next season. The 28-year-old tragically lost his life in a horrific car crash in Spain on July 3, along with his brother, Andre Silva.

Since then, tributes continue to pour in from the football community. The Reds returned to action for the first time on July 13 against Preston, a game they won 3-1.
Before kick-off, Preston's captain laid a wreath in front of the Liverpool fans, and the stadium observed a minute of silence. All players wore black armbands, while a rendition of 'You’ll Never Walk Alone' reverberated throughout the stadium.
Darwin Núñez honoured Jota by performing his celebration after scoring against Preston. The reigning Premier League champions also confirmed they will retire Jota's no.20 shirt.

His closest teammate, Andrew Robertson, shared a touching tribute on social media.
"For the team and the Club, we’ll try to cope with this together… however long that takes. For me, I want to talk about my mate. My buddy. The bloke I loved and will miss like crazy."
What did Kostas Tsimikas do for Diogo Jota?
Tsimikas honoured Jota with a new tattoo on his left hand, featuring the heartfelt message 'Wish You Were Here,' accompanied by the number 20.
The new tattoo was revealed by Puerto Ink Athens on July 5, two days after the tragic passing of the Liverpool striker.
"We’ve moved to the club the same period. We were the new boys in the city. We’ve shared and celebrated some of our best moments of our careers together. Before one of our last ones you’ve said to me “You cross, I score” and that’s what happened. We laughed and we talked about lots," Tsimikas wrote on Instagram after Jota's death.
"You were a special player, a special guy, a true legend Diogo. You’ll always be remembered and always be loved."
What next for Liverpool?
Arne Slot's team face AC Milan in Hong Kong on July 26 and then Yokohama FM in Japan on July 30 during their pre-season tour of Asia.

Diogo Jota's wife shares heartbreaking post
