The football world has been thrown into mourning once again after Charlton Athletic confirmed the 'devastating' death of under-10s star Ethan Ade-Oduwale.

The club shared a moving tribute calling him a 'cherished' member of their academy.
Details surrounding the tragic death are yet to be confirmed, even as Charlton Athletic shared a glowing yet heartbreaking message on their channels.
"Charlton Athletic are devastated to learn of the tragic passing of Ethan Ade-Oduwale, a cherished member of our academy’s U10S team."

"Ethan’s smile, energy and enthusiasm for football will always be remembered by his teammates and the staff within the academy. From the moment he stepped onto a football pitch at Sparrows Lane, his desire to succeed spread across every session and his love of football will forever be remembered."
Ethan Ade-Oduwale's manager speaks
Academy manager Tom Pell promised to share the subsequent plans as they requested for the family to be given space and privacy.
"Everyone within Charlton Athletic’s academy is absolutely devastated to find out the news of Ethan’s tragic passing," he said.
"On behalf of everyone within the academy, we are sending our thoughts, prayers and sincere condolences to Ethan’s parents, Adeola and Esther and the rest of Ethan’s family and friends. In due course, we will share information on our plans to pay tribute to Ethan across the academy to ensure that he is always remembered. His beaming smile will never be forgotten."
Club chairman, Gavin Carter, added
"Our thoughts, heartfelt condolences, and full support are with Ethan’s parents and family. We kindly ask that their privacy - and that of Ethan’s friends, teammates, and the staff who worked with him - be respected during this incredibly difficult time."
Other clubs led by former Premier League side Ipswich Town joined in sending thoughts and prayers to the family and loved ones of the deceased footballer.

The two clubs are set to meet later today for a friendly match at the Jobserve Stadium in Colchester.
Northampton Town said,
"Sending our sincerest condolences to Ethan's family and friends and all at Charlton Athletic Football Club."
Charlton Athletic's position
The Addicks finished in fourth place in last season's League One, which qualified them for the playoffs.
They beat Wycombe Wanderers in the semi-finals, which took them to Wembley for the playoff final.
A first-half goal from Macaulay Gillesphey was enough to see them through to the Championship, where they will compete next season.
