Rasmus Hojlund joined Manchester United in 2023 for £72 million (KSh 12.3 billion) from Serie A side Atalanta, with expectations that he would be the long-term solution to the club's striker issue.
Since his arrival, Hojlund has scored 14 Premier League goals, but his performances regressed significantly last season, leading to widespread criticism.
Many fans have called for his sale, and it now seems likely that he could depart soon.
How has Rasmus Hojlund done at Man United?
Hojlund scored his first Premier League goal four months after joining the club. He then went on a terrific run, finishing his first season (2023/24) with 16 goals.
"When strikers don't score it is always a problem but he has a strong character and a big personality, which is what a striker needs. When he keeps investing, the goals will come and he will score more," former Man United Erik ten Hag said in December 2023 via BBC Sport.
In his second season (2024/25), things took a downturn as he struggled to build on his strong first season. He scored 10 goals in 52 appearances
He struggled with his performances, enduring a 21-game goal drought, which left some fans frustrated.
If he stays, he'll be under pressure to improve. With 26 goals in 95 appearances, his return hasn't lived up to his fee.

What did Ruben Amorim say about Rasmsus Hojlund?
The Danish striker was brilliant in Manchester United's 4-1 win over Bournemouth, with Ruben Amorim showering him with praise and also discussing his future.
"The ability for him to hold the defender and to connect in the support is helping us a lot to play better. And we are playing better because he is playing better," Amorim told the press after the game.
The former Sporting CP boss said he is happy with Hojlund but is uncertain about his future.
"I am really happy with Rasmus. I don't know what is going to happen until the end of the market. The important thing is that the strikers that are here are working really well, are improving, are helping the team and that is the most important thing."
The Red Devils are prioritising the signing of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko over Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins, according to The Athletic. It remains to be seen whether a deal will materialise in the coming weeks.

"Have people not learned to not believe what managers say to the media…Actions speak louder than words. Relax."
