Kenya was placed in the 'Group of Death' at the delayed championships but have so far given a good account of themselves, remaining unbeaten in their first two games.
Austin Odhiambo has been the star of the show in both games, scoring the winner against DR Congo before bagging the equaliser against Angola on Thursday evening.
However, against Morocco, they will arguably come up against the most resourceful and well-equipped team on the continent. The North Africans are the overwhelming favourites, not only to win this game, but to win the whole tournament.
When and where is Kenya vs Morocco?
The CHAN 2024 group stage game will be played at the Moi International Sports Centre in Kasarani on Sunday, August 10.
The game will kick off at 3 pm before Zambia take on Angola from 6 pm at Nyayo Stadium.
Kenya vs Morocco preview
Kenya
Kenya's head coach, Benni McCarthy, will come up against a side that he scored against during the 1998 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
McCarthy was critical of his team despite their draw against Angola, warning them that their 'eight-year-old' mistakes will soon catch up with them.
The South is also aware of fatigue, given that Morocco has had more time to prepare for this game. The Atlas Lions were not in action in midweek after beating Angola on Sunday.
"Morocco has had a week to prepare for this match, as we played our last match only two days ago. It will be a tough match against one of the best teams not only in our group, but in the tournament," he told journalists on Saturday.
The 47-year-old will have to figure out how to frustrate Morocco without Marvin Nabwire, who was sent off against Angola
Masoud Juma could return after missing Angola's game with an injury. McCarthy stated that his injury wasn't as bad as initially feared.
Morocco
Despite playing against a raucous home crowd, Morocco will walk into this game confident of their potential to silence Kasarani Stadium.
This will be their first time facing Kenya at CHAN, but the North Africans have a decent record when facing East African teams - three wins, two draws.
More concerning for Kenya, Morocco also have an unforgiving record when facing CHAN hosts. They beat Rwanda 4-1 in 2016 and Cameroon 4-0 in the 2020 semifinals.
Head coach Tarik Sektioui affirmed that his side would be unfazed by facing Kenya on home soil, but warned against overconfidence as they seek to reach the knockout rounds.

"The match against the host country will be approached with the same will and determination to seek the three points of victory,” he said
“Kenya has played well and the match against them will be difficult. We must give our all for 90 minutes on the pitch to achieve a positive result."
Where to watch Kenya vs Morocco
The game will be live on multiple CAF-licensed platforms, including KBC Channel One, Azam, Supersport Africa, BeIN and Canal Sport.

The last time these two nations met was way back in 2014 in an international friendly, a game Morocco won 3-0.
They also met in 2005 in a double-legged 2026 World Cup qualifier. Morocco won the first leg in Rabat 5-1 before a goalless draw in the reverse fixture in Nairobi.

Did Benni McCarthy criticise Harambee Stars players?
In a related report, McCarthy expressed his frustration with Harambee Stars players.
His comments came after Kenya held Angola to a 1-1 draw, in which he said the team's start was not good.
The Bafana Bafana legend urged his players to do better or it will eventually cost them.
