Kenya is hosting Group A matches, and most of Harambee Stars' games have been marred by security breaches, prompting CAF, the African football governing body, to issue a stern warning.
Benni McCarthy's Harambee Stars, who are close to reaching the quarter-finals, could have their games relocated if the security issues are not addressed.
Why is CAF fining Kenya?
Major security breaches have occurred in several matches in Kenya so far, with the latest being last Sunday, August 10, when Kenya faced Morocco at Kasarani Stadium.

Fans forced their way into the stadium, some without tickets, overcrowding the venue and prompting CAF to limit ticket sales for the next game to 27,000.
Before Kenya kicked off their campaign against DR Congo, fans also forced their way into the stadium. Both incidents led to hefty fines from CAF.
So far, Kenya has been charged five times by CAF and has accumulated millions in fines.
Which CHAN 2024 games have had issues in Kenya?

According to the report, fans tore down the gates and threw stones at the police, who responded by firing tear gas to control the crowd. For Sunday's incidents, Kenya will have to pay a fine of KSh 6.4 million.
Other incidents that have resulted in fines include security breaches before the Kenya vs DR Congo match on August 3. A CAF report revealed that, before and during the match, there was a stampede, a fire in the stadium, protocol breaches, and an assault on a CAF official.
Kenya will have to pay a fine for incidents that occurred during the Angola vs Harambee Stars match on August 7.
The charges included unauthorised access by spectators, mishandling of VIP and VVIP guests, and lighting a fire in the stadium.
They were also charged for incidents in Morocco vs Angola and Zambia vs Angola.
How much fine will Kenya pay?
Kenya can still appeal these charges, but must announce their intention in writing within three days of receiving the decision grounds. However, Kenya must pay the fines to make the appeal valid.
In total, the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) must pay $98,500 (KSh 12,805,000) for the breaches. All the fines must be paid in US dollars.
Each charge has its own deadline, all in early October (5th, 9th, 11th, and 12th).
