Mookh Africa, CHAN's ticketing service provider in Kenya, crashed as Kenyans rushed to buy tickets for Harambee Stars' mouth-watering clash against Madagascar.
How many tickets will CHAN sell for Kenya vs Madagascar?
Due to security breaches during the Kenya vs. Morocco match on August 10, CAF fined Kenya KSh 6.4 million and warned that their games could be relocated to other venues.
Moreover, they reduced the capacity to 27,000 to prevent further chaos before and during matches. As expected, their clash against Zambia on Sunday went off without a hitch.
For the Madagascar game, ticket prices were increased from KSh 200 to KSh 250. So far, the stadium is set to operate at full capacity unless CAF issues further directives.
Kenya's brilliant performances so far have attracted plenty of interest from fans, making everyone battle for a seat.
Why did CHAN 2024 ticket site crash?
Harmabee Stars tickets were limited to 27,000 in their previous match against Zambia due to security breaches.
Shortly after the sale of tickets for Kenya vs. Madagascar went live, the site announced they were sold out and later crashed.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, a source exclusively told TUKO.co.ke that the site was bombarded with 4,000 requests per minute, ultimately causing it to crash.

The source added that they are exploring alternative ways to sell the tickets, including selling them at night. They mentioned that the last time they did so, the process was smooth, and the site didn’t crash.
So far, only 6,000 tickets have been sold; they are not sold out as the site claims.
