He suggested that the chatter from across the border came from a place of fear rather than fact.

"Those are our neighbours, I hope you know who I am talking about. They are not even part of our fixture tomorrow, yet they are making noise," Musigwa said.

He stressed that no Kenyan fan had bought out the tickets for the Taifa Stars’ clash with Morocco at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

Musigwa moved to reassure Tanzanian fans that they had nothing to worry about.

He explained that the government had made adequate arrangements for crowd management and that every supporter who wished to attend would be able to access the stands.

"Come to the stadium gates and you will enter. The government has taken measures, there is enough space, so do not be afraid," he said.

What time will Tanzania play Morocco?

Did Murkomen join the CHAN banter?

In a related development, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen joined the ongoing football banter between Kenya and Tanzania ahead of the CHAN 2024 quarter-finals.

The rivalry between the two neighbours sparked playful exchanges among fans, with a move seen as an attempt to reduce Tanzania’s home crowd.

Murkomen added to the conversation by applauding Kenyan fans who had reportedly acquired tickets to the Tanzania game.
