In their opening game of the season against Bournemouth, fans from both sides came together to pay a heartfelt tribute to the late footballer.
Prior to kickoff, the stadium resonated with a rendition of 'You'll Never Walk Alone,' as the crowd waved banners, flags, and scarves in tribute to Jota.
The reigning Premier League champions also confirmed they will retire Jota's No.20 shirt after consultations with his family.
"The main emotion should be how impressive and powerful the tribute for Diogo was," Liverpool boss Arne Slot told the media. "The banner the Kop showed, the way they sang 'You'll Never Walk Alone,' the way they sung for Diogo throughout the game. It was all so impressive and so powerful. "
Wolves, Jota's former club, also paid tribute to the Portuguese footballer last Saturday.
Why has Diogo Jota Foundation website disappeared?
According to The Telegraph, the Diogo Jota Foundation has been soliciting donations through the website diogojotafoundation.org, which was created three days after Jota died in a car crash.
The foundation claims to have raised $64,250 (KSh 8.3 million). The report adds that the site only allowed donations in cryptocurrency.
The website displays the logos of Liverpool FC, UNICEF, Allianz, and the Portuguese Platform of Development NGOs. Three of these organisations have told the British outlet that they have no knowledge of the foundation.

Liverpool has confirmed to Telegraph Sport that neither they nor Jota’s family have any knowledge of the foundation. Liverpool announced their own foundation, LFC Foundation, in Jota's name.
