How Tanzania, Uganda reached CHAN 2024 quarter-finals

Tanzania

Hemed 'Morocco' Suleiman's charges led an almost perfect group stage campaign where they beat Burkina Faso, Mauritania and Madagascar before drawing with the Central African Republic in the last game.

Winning the group earned them a date wth Morocco, which they lost thanks to a goal from Oussama Lamlioui.

"I congratulate my players. They gave everything against Morocco. Of course, the loss hurts, especially at home, but that’s football," said Suleiman via CAF Online.

"Against Morocco, one of the toughest matches we’ve faced, we saw what we still lack — and now we know what to work on. There were positives, but also areas to improve. This tournament has shown us we can compete, but also what is needed to reach the next level."

Can Kenya's disallowed goal be appealed?

In a related report, Kenyans have questioned whether the disallowed goal against Madagascar can be appealed.

Ryan Ogam had doubled Kenya's lead only for the referee to chalk off the goal after a foul in the build-up.
