Macron speaks after scuffle with wife

The French president was forced to defend his wife after he was caught red-handed after being pushed in the face.

He claimed they were joking and being playful before embarking on official business, and denied any other interpretation.

Macron is in Vietnam for a six-day Southeast Asian tour where he is expected to visit Indonesia and Singapore.

His trip is part of his pitch, his offer of a "third way" between the United States and China to a region caught up in a confrontation between the two.
