Did Malini Kilucha take alcohol?
The officer’s death has left many residents puzzled over what might have transpired to lead to such a tragic end.
Iwelyangula chairperson Abeli Ngusa said he received reports that someone had been murdered in the area.
“I rushed to the scene and found him in a distressing state, his mouth and nose covered with a sweater. We’ve never witnessed such an incident here before,” he said.
Ngusa suggested that Kilucha may have been killed elsewhere and his body dumped at the roadside.
He described the deceased as a peaceful man despite his known fondness for alcohol.
“He never harmed anyone. We have lived with him for many years, and I don't believe he did anything so serious to deserve such a cruel death,” Ngusa added.
Twaha Luzebanga, a local resident, noted that Kilucha was known to drink alcohol in the area where his body was found, but no one knew what had happened to him that night.
“The officers should investigate this matter thoroughly. As locals, we must also act as our brother’s keeper and share any information that could help find those responsible,” another resident urged.
Netizens mourn prison officer
Daniel Kanso:
"It's a very bad thing for people to interfere with God's responsibilities. That's why such incidents have become so widespread. What can we say now when our leader says it's just one person in Tanzania? We need to fight to find a system that protects human dignity. I'm not referring to the kind of 'dignity' mentioned by those in church—no, my mind just can’t grasp what they mean."
Baraka Mahoma:
"The authorities themselves say death is just death, it doesn’t matter. My condolences to the family, but we’re headed in the wrong direction, this is not right at all."
Grace Mwikoko:
"A person’s blood is heavy, let them ask Cain; he thought no one knew, but with God, there are no secrets."
Cartarina Paul:
"These days, it's murder every day. Even here in Mbagala, someone was killed last night. And it was just a good, innocent citizen. This is heartbreaking."
