Who survived Kisangani plane crash?
According to eyewitnesses, Colonel Patrick Gesore was accompanied by his wife, two pilots, and three bodyguards. Only one of the bodyguards survived the crash.

For nearly five years, Colonel Gesore had been deployed in Maniema, first in Kindu and later in Punia.

What happened to pilot Peter Anala?
Elsewhere, eight people, among them two ministers, were killed when a plane crashed in the dense forest of Adansi Sikaman in the Adansi Akrofuom District of Ghana’s Ashanti Region.
The aircraft was piloted by Squadron Leader Peter Anala, who was mourned as a hardworking and charismatic officer. The tragedy struck just months after he lost two of his siblings.
During their tribute, his family revealed that Anala had experienced a disturbing dream days before the crash, a revelation that left them in constant prayer.
He left behind a young wife and a two-month-old daughter, whose Christian naming ceremony was scheduled for October 2025.
Where did AMREF aircraft crash?
On Thursday, August 8, AMREF aircraft ferrying doctors from Wilson Airport to Somalia to respond to an emergency, crashed at Mwihoko area in Kaimbu county barely three minutes after takeoff.
Six people were killed, including two pilots, a doctor and a nurse who were aboard the ill-fated aircraft. Two civilians who were inside a residential house where the plane crashed also died.
Eyewitnesses said the plane caught fire after crashing. The bodies of the victims were burnt and left scattered around after the fatal crash that shocked residents of the otherwise quiet and peaceful Mwihoko estate.
Officers from the National Police Service (NPS), Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and Kenya Red Cross were the responders at the scene.
AMREF CEO Stephen Gitau said the aircraft was in good condition when it left Wilson Airport, adding that aviation officers had yet to identify the mishap that resulted in the crash.
