Netizens express mixed reactions to Saudi carousel accident

Netizens expressed disbelief and concern over safety standards at the park, while others commented on the design of the safety restraints.

Avery Hewit:

"That poor person who hit the other side. I hope they survived."

Tom Meloche:

"There’s no way that person didn’t get seriously injured. If it’s true, there were no deaths. It’s probably just ‘no deaths yet’ because they’re not doing too well."

Steve Pederson:

"Just the right angles and break points brought the riders down in an upright position, very fortunate."

John Davis:

"I thought the bolts were tightened, now you see how a wheel comes off a truck flying down the motorway."

Collin Boyd:

"It literally fell in the only way possible that might have allowed everyone to survive. Also, good to know Saudi Arabia has its own crazy fairground culture – I can only imagine how poorly maintained those rides must be."

Courney Gray:

"We need posts about guns and gear. No one really cares about that ride breaking – it was probably built by some exhausted kids who were told to stop stitching footballs and start tightening bolts."

ThandeBeauty NhlapoSkosana:

"Storm Chaser! That’s one ride I’d never get used to. I pass out five times before it ends. It’s second only to the Tower of Terror!"
